Technology Engineer


INFRATEC-UK Ltd currently have exciting opportunities for qualified Technology Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. Our Head Office is based in Middlesbrough, but the role will require UK wide travel and working away from home during working week will be required. We welcome applications from candidates based anywhere in UK.

Main duties and responsibilities for this role will include: 
• Undertake specific projects as directed by the Senior Engineer, to include; installation test and maintenance of highways technology assets e.g. VMS, MIDAS, CCTV
• Undertake the planning and installation of power and communications infrastructure for highways technology assets.
• Identify and apply appropriate methodologies and standards to produce effective and innovative solutions. Actively contribute and record efficiencies and innovations.
• Carry out investigation, surveys and studies; and provide relevant reports to include potential problems, issues recommendations and solutions.
• Co-ordinate and supervise other relevant disciplines and contractors to deliver projects.
• Applying skills and knowledge to review and prepare documentation pack, to include drawings, RAMS and specifications.
• Keep the Senior Engineer appraised of activities, providing reports where required.
• Assist in the support, training and development of junior team members where applicable.
• Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: 
• ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• A good understanding of the highways technology including but not limited to; Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), CCTV, MIDAS, VMS & Signals, Highways Infrastructure -   roadside equipment, power supplies and distribution, communications cable networks, NRTS, RCC in-station equipment.
• Smart Motorway Expressway experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver solutions and successfully manage time to meet project deadlines, able to work independently with minimal          supervision and take project ownership for delegated duties as well as demonstrate mentoring skills.
• CSCS/ECS Card NHSS 8
• Full UK Driving License.

Desirable, but not essential
• Electrical qualification 236 parts 1 and 2 to 17th edition of BS7671 essential
• Qualified for testing to 2391 or equivalent

Based: Negotiable due to works being carried out throughout the UK. Head office is Middlesbrough.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, plus overtime rates at premiums of 100-200%

Highway Electrician

Main duties and responsibilities for this role will include: 
• Install electrical equipment and wiring
• Inspection, test and certification of electrical installations.
• Terminate and joint cables
• Fault investigation, diagnostics and repair.
• Adhere fully to Health & Safety responsibilities
• Assist in the support, training and development of junior team members where applicable.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: 
• Electrical qualification 236 parts 1 and 2 to 17th edition of BS7671 essential
• Qualified for testing to 2391 or equivalent
• CSCS/ECS Card NHSS 8
• Ability to work to deadlines and flexibility with working hours.
• Have good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Emergency First Aid at Work
• Manual Handling Highways Electrical

Street Lighting Electrician

INFRATEC-UK Ltd currently have exciting opportunities for qualified Street Lighting Electricians with highways experience to join our team on a permanent basis. Our Head Office is based in Middlesbrough, but the role will require UK wide travel and working away from home during working week will be required. We welcome applications from candidates based anywhere in UK.

Main duties and responsibilities for this role will include: 
• Undertake various duties including routine/cyclic maintenance and scheme works.
• Install all electrical equipment conforming to HEA and IEE 17th Edition wiring regulations
• Installation of street furniture i.e. lighting columns, signs and bollards.
• Attend to routine street lighting faults.
• Excavate for bollard and sign foundations
• Block clean and change
• Make off SWA/PVC insulated cable
• Record test results using hand held device
• Commissioning of new lighting columns/bollards/lit signs
• Take part in out of hours emergency services on a call out basis
• Provide support to other INFRATEC-UK contracts.
• Diagnose and replace failed components.
• Adhere fully to Health & Safety responsibilities
• Assist in the support, training and development of junior team members where applicable.
• The post holder will be required to work on a stand by rota

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: 
• Electrical qualification 236 parts 1 and 2 to 17th edition of BS7671 essential
• Qualified for testing to 2391 or equivalent
• Ability to work to deadlines and flexibility with working hours
• Have good communication skills both verbal and written.

Driver/HIAB Operator

INFRATEC-UK currently have an opportunity for a Class 2 HGV Driver and HIAB Operator to join our team. Our Head Office is based in Middlesbrough, but the role will require UK wide travel and working away from home during working week will be required.

The Driver/HIAB Operator will be required to transport equipment to highway maintenance and repair contracts and provide lifting duties to assist in the installation of technology systems.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of operating load and secure methods as well as experience of operating a HIAB lorry mounted crane, hold a Class 2 HGV Licence and have a good geographical knowledge of major motorways.

Main duties and responsibilities for this role will include: 
• Delivery and collection of equipment from and to site.
• Managing tachograph in line with legislative requirements.
• Ensuring all health and safety requirements are adhered to whilst driving, loading and unloading of equipment.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: 
• Experienced lorry mounted crane operator.
• Experienced in load and secure methods.
• Class 2 HGV License
• CPC Card
• Tacho Card
• HIAB Certificate

Desirable, but not essential
• ALLMI Lorry Loader or CPCS Lorry Loader
• ALLMI Slinger/Signaller
• IPAF 1B, 3A & 3B

Based: Middlesbrough but with extensive travel throughout the UK.

General Operative

Main duties and responsibilities for this role will include: 
• Carry out project, reactive and/or maintenance work as issued
• Ensure that work is completed to a high standard within the agreed time scale
• Complete the required paperwork
• Be able to carry out on site risk assessments and raise issues when circumstances arise
• Work flexibly and carry out any suitable duties
• Take ownership of issues on site

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: 
• Full UK Driving License.
• Holds a relevant Industry qualification e.g. CSCS/ECS Card
